Constituted on 22nd November 2000, Mali Foundation was registered under the Travancore – Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955.
Mali Foundation aims to promote excellence in all fields including literature, sports, art and culture. We aim to promote and recognize outstanding artistes and performers in various fields.
The objective of the Foundation is to uphold the values and traditions enshrined in our ancient heritage as expressed in Mali’s works. We plan to introduce the public to various art forms by conducting programmes every year to commemorate Mali’s great love for the classical art forms of India.
Mali Foundation is in the process of translating and digitizing all works of Mali to make them easily available to a wider audience.
Mali Foundation conducts a Malifest every year by recognizing a leading artist in the field of Kathakali with an award and citation. The play Karnasapatham is staged during the fest.
In 2016, to mark the centenary of Mali’s birth, the Foundation plans to conduct year-long celebrations. This website will be updated with details of the various events as and when they are confirmed.
